HELPING US

ON THE FIELD:

To develop its work, the Brigitte Bardot Foundation has created a network of voluntary delegates and inspectors who extend the Foundation’s work in the country.
In this way, any person who wishes to help us in our struggle for animal protection can become a voluntary delegate or inspector for the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, after having gone through the procedure.
Each one of these jobs regulate the success of our enterprise and require a very demanding personal involvement.

DELEGATES:

The first mission of a delegate is to inform people of the Foundation’s purposes and achievements. He can take part in meetings or regularly hand out tracts and magazines. The delegate needs to make people aware of the work and problems encountered by animal protection associations.

INSPECTORS:

The inspector’s first mission is field work. The inspector is in direct contact with animals. His duties are the following:
- He advises and checks suspected bad treatment.
- He checks animal placements
- He investigates the opportunities for food or medical help.

This work is accomplished in collaboration with our law departement.

To this day the Foundation has 100 delegates and 185 inspectors all around France.

DONATIONS:

If you do not have the opportunity to act “directly on the field”, you can support our initiative by sending us a donation. It would enable us to finance our different projects.

LEGACIES:

The Brigitte Bardot Foundation depends exclusively on the generosity of its 57 000 donators. Without that help it would be incapable of following up missions for animal protection.
The Foundation obtained the status of Public Foundation on February 21st 1992 and is entitled to receive legacies. This recognition exempts it from inheritance taxes.

If you live in France:

MAKING ONE’S WILL IN FAVOUR OF THE FOUNDATION

All you need to do is pay a visit to a notary and ask for the address and phone number of the Foundation’s notary.
Wills can be drawn as the following example.
The will can be drafted on any kind of paper but it must be handwritten by the testator who must date it and sign it clearly. To avoid any loss, the testator may draft two similar wills, one of which will be registered and kept by the notary.
A copy of the will must be sent to us with the name and address of the notary who will keep the original document.
It is advisable to take the advice of the notary who might find a contradictory clause that could invalidate the will’s provisions.

This is my will
(date and place in full letters)

I, the undersigned (first name, last name, address)
Bequeath to the Brigitte Bardot Foundation
45 rue Vineuse 75116 Paris

Mention estate, furniture, or cash, the share of residue you wish to bequeath to the Foundation.
Please mention the presence of animals, in such a case please add the relative clause if you want them to be taken in charge by the Foundation.

LEGACIES INVOLVING ANIMALS:

All you need to do is add a clause to the will specifying that you would like your animal to be entrusted to the Foundation’s care.
The testator will then need to leave a letter at his home or with a trustworthy person so the Brigitte Bardot Foundation can be contacted as soon as possible in the case of a decease. The Brigitte Bardot Foundation can ensure the safekeeping of the animal.
Several solutions are conceivable, we remain at your disposal to discuss the best choices adapted to the animal’s needs.

If you live abroad

Please contact a notary or your lawyer.
